Our subscription plans include a monthly budget of credits. Credits enable you to generate images from your Placid templates.

How many credits do I need to generate creatives?

You can use credits via placid.app as well as any API, SDK or integration we offer.

  • 1 image = 1 credit
  • Every 10s of video = 10 credits
  • 1 PDF page = 2 credits
  • Watermarked previews used to test your integrations do not require a credit.

How many credits do I need to generate a Placid Image?

By default, an image costs 1 credit, but you might need more credits based on canvas size. The size range is always defined by the longest side of your document.

What happens if I run out of credits?

You can check how many credits you have and monitor your usage on your dashboard on placid.app. We will also notify you via email if you're getting close to running out of credits.

We do not charge overage fees. Instead, you won’t be able to generate any more creatives (except previews) if you used up all of your credits. Should you need more credits, you can upgrade your plan any time.

What happens with unused credits?

We understand that your usage needs may vary each month, and we want you to get the most out of Placid. So remaining credits are not lost, even if you did not generate any creatives for a month: They roll over and double up your budget for the next month.

You can keep up to 2x your monthly credit budget as long as your subscription is active.

As an example: You have a subscription for 500 credits per month. On this plan, you'll be able to roll over credits from previous months up to a total of 1,000 credits.

What happens with credits if I cancel my subscription?

Your credits are valid as long as you have an active subscription. If you cancel, you can use them up until the end of your billing period.

As an example: If you subscribe to a monthly plan on November 10 and cancel on November 25, you will be able to use your credits until December 10.

How does upgrading / downgrading my plan impact my credits?

  • If you upgrade your plan, you will receive your additional credits immediately. You will pay a pro-rated amount for the rest of the month.
  • Downgrading your plan will take effect for your next billing period so you can keep using the credits you have already paid for. Unused credits will roll over to the limit of your new plan.

How do credits work together with the Placid Editor SDK?

Images, PDFs or videos generated via embedded components of our SDK are billed just like any other creative generated with Placid. Additionally to the credits used when your users generate creatives, we bill one credit per customized template version per month. Read more about the Placid SDK licensing here!
