You can opt-out of marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any of these emails, or in your account settings. We process the data for as long as you have a Placid user account or until you withdraw your consent. When you opt out of receiving our newsletter, your account will be flagged as „unsubscribed from marketing“, and you won’t receive any further marketing emails from us. However, we will still need to process data to manage your user account.
Purpose:
- To provide you with news and offers related to our service and your subscription
You use our website / app
When you use our services, we may collect data about your access.
Server logs / Analytics
To analyse and optimise how people use our services and for security reasons we collect usage data via access logs and analytics software.
This may include the name of the visited webpage or document, date and time of the visit, the amount of data transmitted, whether our server successfully delivered a web page, browser type and version, OS, referrer URLs, IP address and the inquiring provider.
However, we aim to limit processing by:
- Using a privacy-first analytics software that does not connect your IP address to the pages you visit. They only retain your IP address for 24 hours for security reasons.
- Deleting log files periodically
Cookies
We use cookies to provide a smooth experience with our product. Cookies are small pieces of information, stored in simple text files, placed on your computer by a website. They can be read by the website on your subsequent visits.
We use them for functionalities like logging in, making purchases or providing customer support and aim to keep them minimal.
In any case, you are in control about how and which cookies we set. However, some features of our services may not function properly without them. For more information, a full list of cookies we use and the possibilities to manage your cookies, please read our Cookie Policy.
Purpose:
- To be able to ensure system security, manage the website technically and optimising service quality
How long do we keep your personal data?
We retain your personal data where we have an ongoing legitimate business need to do so (e.g. to provide you with a service you have requested or to comply with applicable legal, tax or accounting requirements).
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal data, we will either delete or anonymise it or, if this is not possible (e.g. because your personal data has been stored in a backup), then we will securely store your personal data and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible. We may retain certain account information to comply with our legal obligations (such as for accounting and audit purposes).
Who do we share your personal data with?
To run our business and provide our services, we sometimes will have to share your personal data with other trusted parties such as:
- Service providers that process your personal data on our behalf
- Professional advisors from industries such as law and finance
- IT support when necessary
- Public authorities (e.g. law enforcement body, regulatory, government agency, court) when we are obliged to report to them
We review and quality assure all service providers and data processors, and close data processing agreements whenever necessary.
Further, we aim for data minimization, so we will only use sub processors to process your personal data when required (e.g. for payment processing when you subscribe to our service).
We use sub processors for these purposes:
- Infrastructure hosting
- Payments
- Customer support
- Emails
- Analytics
We don’t publish further details of our data processors to protect our business. If you’d like to know more about our processing, please contact us.
Our role as a data processor
When you use Placid to generate creatives, we process this data on your behalf.
In some use cases, this may include personal data of e.g. your customers, users or employees. In this case, you are the controller of such data, and we are a data processor of yours.
We receive this data in the form of requests with a custom structure. As the use cases of our customers differ, we can not differentiate between your requests that contain personal data and requests that do not.
In any case, we aim to handle this data with care:
- We only carry our processing on your behalf and as per your instructions
- We use technical and organizational security measures to protect the data we process on your behalf
- We require our employees to treat your data as confidential
- We retain the raw request data only for a limited amount of time, and only for the purpose of processing your request and potential troubleshooting
If you aim to process personal data of third parties with our service, we govern this processing by a contract (a data processing addendum). Please contact us if you want to close such an agreement.
